About the Ramp Dinner
The Upshur County Public Library transforms into a high class dining experience once again! The 31st annual Gourmet Ramp Dinner Extravaganza kicks off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17th. It is brought to you by Chef Dale Hawkins of Fish Hawk Acres. We are planning for a large crowd and will have multiple serving lines to make the line flow smoothly again this year. Take out is also an option, though we would love for you to experience the ambiance of the library while you are eating.
This culinary experience is available only once a year and has been a tradition in Upshur County since 1994. Since 1979, the mission of the Upshur County Public Library has been to provide our community with lifelong learning opportunities by providing access to materials, services, technologies and programs for patrons of all ages. These programs and services are only possible through active and sustained community support.
This is a unique opportunity to sample the following gourmet ramp dishes. If you would like the non-ramp version of the meal, please specify when reserving your ticket.
Dinner Menu
- Deviled Eggs with Pickled Ramps
- Fish Hawk Acres Signature Baked Ham (no ramps)
- Root Vegetable Medley (Roasted Carrots, Turnips, Parsnips, Sweet Potatoes, Herbs & Olive Oil; served with & without ramps)
- Roasted Spring Potatoes (with & without ramps)
- Spinach Salad with Bacon Ramp Vinaigrette
- Potato & Ramp Chowder
- Ramp & Vegetable Strata (Italian Quiche w/ Spinach, Mushrooms, Peppers, Tomatoes & Ramps)
- Ramp Focaccia
- Apple Dumplings with Vanilla Ice Cream
Tickets for Ramp Dinner
Tickets are $28 a person and $14 for children ages 6-12 (children 5 and under eat free). All proceeds benefit the Upshur County Public Library. Advance ticket purchases are required so that we can ensure enough food is prepared for all attendees to enjoy, and will be accepted through 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15.
Tickets may be paid for in the following manners. Please contact the library (304-473-4219, ext. 2 or 3) if you have any questions.
- In person via cash, check or credit/debit card at the Upshur County Public Library
- Online via credit/debit card here (click image):
- Change the number of Adult or Children’s tickets to how many you are purchasing, then select Add to Cart
- On the pop-up window, select whether you’d like each dinner with or without ramps, and if you will be dining in or carrying out your meal. We need to know this information to provide it to Fish Hawk Acres.
- Select View Cart, then Checkout to pay for your tickets.
- Enter your credit card and billing details, and make sure to check the 4 checkboxes under Terms.
- When finished, select Process Payment.
Tickets do not need to be presented at the door, we will instead be checking you off of the RSVP guest list.
Ramp Dinner Sponsorship
If you wish to honor a loved one as an Individual Sponsor, or you own a business and are interested in Corporate Sponsorship opportunities for this event, there are opportunities available. Individual and Corporate Sponsorship of this event shows the surrounding community that you or your company values the work the library does to increase literacy and education in the community. Added perks for sponsorship include free tickets to the Ramp Dinner and marketing opportunities throughout the year, even beyond the day of the dinner, depending on your level of sponsorship.
