Add some color to your world with the 2025 Summer Reading Program from Upshur County Public Library!  We will have lots of colorful, fun-filled activities and events for everyone to enjoy this year.  We again will have four levels of programs this year for all ages, broken into four categories: Pre-K (ages 0-3), Kids (ages 3-12), Teens (13-18) and Adults (19+). Please look at the appropriate age level program for your interests (children that fall between two different programs may choose one program to follow). All participants are able to register for the program between June 1 and June 30th, 2025. 

The Library welcomes participants of all ages and abilities. Since the program is app based, the Summer Reading Program is available anytime. The more you read and participate in our weekly and special programs, the more points you earn towards cool prizes!  Here are the various ways you can earn points:

• Weekly craft activities (Begins each Monday, runs through the following Saturday)
• Participate in our weekly library programs (Lego Day, I Spy, Storytime, Playtime, Game Night, Chess Club, etc.)
• Special Programs/Events (Art with Crystal (3 different classes), Mario Kart Tournament, Tie Dye Event, Wrap Party)
• Teens can earn points by submitting book reviews (25 points per review accepted)
• Time spent reading (1 point earned for every 1 minute reading, logged in the app)

Apps

All programs use the ReadSquared app, which is used to register and keep track of your points earned during the program, as well as notification of winning prizes at the end.  Points are used towards buying tickets for various prizes, depending on age level entered.  All programs are eligible to log activity June 1st, and all reading activity and program codes can be logged through June 30th, with prizes drawn July 1st.
