
Comic books and graphic novels are an excellent way to introduce people to reading, as well as help those that are struggling with reading comprehension.
Available on any phone, computer or tablet, ComicsPlus is a digital library of over 20,000 comic books and magazines. All titles are available 24/7, with no waiting line or holds needed!
Where to Find
How to Use
- Search for Upshur County Public Library
- Add your Library Card Number
- Click on an item you’d like to read, and either click Read Now (Green Play button) to read it now, or Add to Shelf (Black Plus Sign) to read it later
Collections Available
As with any materials in our print collection, Upshur County Public Library observes the American Library Association’s Library Bill of Rights and the Freedom to Read Statement. However, we respect the right parents have to supervise what children are reading. Please note, the library has purchased a subscription and does not own any of the content in ComicsPlus. Some generic content guidelines are below. For all collections, please refer to ComicsPlus’ age guidelines when deciding whether your child is reading the appropriate content.
Full Collection
Full access to all materials in the collection, no content restrictions, and has access to the Teen and Kids Collections as well. Content is generally considered to include R-rated material and aimed at ages 18+.

eBooks, eAudiobooks & eMagazines (WVReads)
WVREADS is a digital library consortium bringing patrons eBooks, eAudiobooks & eMagazines through the Libby app. The member libraries represent many different counties throughout the state of West Virginia. If you would like to see something we do not have in our digital library collection, ask at the circulation desk for it to be ordered in electronic format.
To access eBooks on your computer, visit the WVReads website, log in using Upshur County Public Library as your library and your library card number, and enjoy our eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines within your browser of choice! If this is your first time using WVReads, the Getting Started page may be helpful. Apps are available below:
Students enrolled in grades K-12 in Upshur County Public Schools may additionally use the Sora App from the Apple e-Store on your school-provided iPad. You must use your school email address, not your library card, to log in this way. Please see this file for additional help using the Sora app, or contact your school’s technology person for help with the device.

- Dedicated eReader help – You can borrow eBooks from your library and transfer them to compatible eReaders using your computer.
- Kindle Fire users, please use these instructions as an alternative to the above.
- Notify Me has now replaced the Recommend to Library feature, and is a way to recommend titles to purchase that are not in the digital collection.
